For far too long, lawmakers and lobbyists have abused the system to their own advantage by taking taxpayer dollars and using them to lobby for tax increases.
This is hurting everyday Kentucky citizens like myself, that are struggling with the crippling effects of inflation.
The current state law that allows for government entities to use taxpayer dollars to lobby is a circular and self-promoting cycle that must end.
That's why I am writing to you today to demand that you end this system of Taxpayer-Funded Lobbying in Kentucky.

Are you content with how your taxpayer dollars are spent?

You see, in the Bluegrass State, it is currently completely legal for public officials to use public dollars to advocate for public policy.

In short, your taxpayer dollars can be used to lobby against you to advocate for the taking of more of your taxpayer dollars.

Is there anything more asinine than the Department of Transportation using gas taxes to pay lobbyists for higher gas taxes? Or the concept of public school administrators shifting money out of school budgets to pay lobbyists to advocate for more school funding?

It feels insane.

Luckily American Action Fund is looking to take on taxpayer-funded lobbying, here in Kentucky and in states across the country.
